About Me

I’m Alexandra, the founder of A Place Prepared. I live in Frisco, Texas, with my husband and our two daughters.
I’ve always been drawn to expressive color, intricate patterns, and a bit of whimsy. I love finding pieces that feel special—the ones you keep thinking about after you’ve left an antique shop. That same instinct guides my work: choosing pieces worth making room for and giving them a place in everyday life.
I personally source every plate and design each installation, with care for the details and the home it’s meant for. It’s a process I love, from the first find to the final adjustments.
The story behind the name
The meaning behind the name.
A Place Prepared takes its name from Jesus’ promise in John 14:2–3 to prepare a place for us. For me, it’s a reminder to keep an eternal perspective, even in something as ordinary as decorating a home.
